Wilmy Marrero is a born and raised Houston native with Dominican blood running in his veins. He grew up in the Pasadena/South Houston area where he attended Pasadena High School. As a Pasadena Eagle he was a 4 year letterman earning all-district and all-area honors. As a college player, Wilmy attended Texas Southern University, Alvin Community College and finally found his home at Southern University in Baton Rouge for 2 seasons. At Southern University, he earned 1st team all-conference, 1st team all tournament team and was nominated for the newcomer award for all D1 schools in the State of Louisiana. Post graduation in 2013, Wilmy suffered a major arm injury which ultimately ended his career. From then he shifted all his focus into coaching. He transitioned to the coaching staff under Coach Cador, with a focus of development and mentoring the Southern University baseball team in conjunction with coaching on and off the field. Since then he has focused on developing young players of all ages. Wilmy has over 9 years of coaching and personal training experience in the Houston select ball scene. For the last five seasons he has been a part of the Los Tigres organization, coaching all age groups from 8u to 17u,  helping players find schools and continuing their academic and collegiate career.
